Dahn Yoga – Increasingly popular around the world

Although you might be unfamiliar with the concept, the art of Dahn yoga has been in practice for many years and has become very popular all around the world with individuals who are concerned about their personal fitness. The original name for this particular type of exercise is Dahn Hak, which, when translated, refers to the study of energy. In the original Korean language, the name Dahn is a reference to the energy inside the body which is considered to be a part of all life. The word Hak, when translated, refers to the study of any type of theory or philosophy. With the combination of the two words, Dahn Hak refers to the study of the system of energy for the purpose of improving the individual’s well-being. While the translation is certainly somewhat literal, it is clear that the purpose of Dahn yoga refers to the improvement of the body’s manipulation of energy and a continuing commitment to utilizing this energy for positive benefits. 

With the training regimen that the individual utilizes, the ability to communicate to the body through energy allows the practitioner to go from good health to extreme fitness and strong mental faculties. With all the effort at increasing the circulation and stimulation of the bodies energy, the body regains its ability to heal and begins to recuperate. With this regeneration of energy, the concept of health and the bodies energy, the individual gains a strong control over the energy referred to as ki. 

While the physical health of the practitioner is certainly important, Dahn yoga refers to far more than simple fitness and focuses on the balance of peace and harmony in the life of the individual as well. With continued intense exercise, the practitioner can improve their emotional life, including their dealings with their family, friends and their careers. With the release of burdensome emotions that can drag the individual down, the reward for the Dahn yoga practitioner can be great indeed. 

With all of these positive effects, it is easy to see why Dahn yoga has become very popular and continues to grow around the world as more individuals become aware of its positive effects on the body.
