Smart Homes

You may think that you have some things in your home that are smart, and you would be right. You may have a coffee maker that can make your coffee at a predetermined time so that it is ready and waiting for you in the morning. You may also have lights that turn on when motion is detected. These are all great things, and are also the things that many in the future might take for granted when they are living in what will be called smart homes. You may think of this as something out of the Jetsons, but these home are probably closer than you think.

The beginnings of smart homes are already here. There are many things you can do with the aid of your computer. You can buy a program that will turn your lights on and off when you are away, and many like this so keep others from knowing that no one is home. In the future, smart homes may do this for you, but they will take it a step further.
