Ice Skates

My grandparents had a small pond on their farm, and an odd collection of ice skates. I always thought it would be fun to learn to how to skate, but I never got the hang of it. I later learned to roller skate, but for some reason, I could never handle the skates built for sliding across the ice. However, I think I am going to have to learn soon enough, because my daughter’s school has a few outings to the local rink each year, and I want to be able to go with her. Learning to deal with ice skates at my age might be fun, but I fear I am going to break something. I’m not that old of course, but I am not a teenager either.
